Join us for a hands-on tile making and decorating workshop! In this class, you’ll learn how to press tiles from slabs of clay and create 3–6 fresh tiles of your own. These newly made tiles will be saved to dry and fire for the next group of participants, and in turn, you’ll get to choose from a set of beautiful tiles made by the previous class to decorate.
Once you’ve selected your tiles, we’ll jump into the creative part - painting and glazing! You’ll explore fun decorating techniques using colorful underglazes, layering and blending for depth, adding crisp linework, and experimenting with playful effects like bubbling or simple transfers. This is your chance to give each tile a unique personality, or you can make a unique matching set!
By the end of the evening, you’ll have a set of custom-decorated tiles ready to be clear glazed and fired. Perfect for beginners and clay lovers alike, this workshop is all about experimenting, creating, and making something new. Come ready to get your hands dirty!
